Racers Against Childhood Cancer Takes Advantage of Run for Charity Program

Racers Against Childhood Cancer is sending ten runners to the Door County Half Marathon to raise money for the MACC Fund and Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin. They hope to raise $3,000 for the
The organization was founded in 2007 by Cole Braun and Jon McGlocklin, the founder of the MACC Fund. Brad Schneider, RACC’s Development Director, said Braun has a long connection to the MACC Fund, but wanted to do more than donate money.
“He latched onto the idea of using the spirit of competition to raise money for children fighting cancer,” Schneider explained. “The goal, and obviously it’s a long-term goal, is to raise $1 million a year with athletes running events on behalf of RACC. We want to have 20 people out every weekend raising funds, wearing our gear, and spreading the word.”
Last year $60,000 was raised through the program. For more information visit www.raccfund.org.
